Through an agreement that was signed between the Lands Authority and the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights it will lead to farmers being provided services related to the Lands Authority with a more accessible way for them.
It was explained that farmers who need the services of the Land Authority will be given help from Pitkalija itself through the AgriConnect office in Ta’ Qali, without the need to visit the Authority’s office, the -City.
The Minister for Lands and the Implementation of the Electoral Program Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi said that the main objective of this agreement is to reach more farmers and villagers and through this they deliver the services of the Authority with more convenience and comfort. The Minister explained how among these services, the Authority will be offering information on census or midwives, and other aids, as well as assisting them in filling out applications.
“This agreement is testimony to our commitment to have quality services more accessible to those who need them,” concluded Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi.
The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo stressed that through this agreement, the Government is seeing to continue to facilitate in the best way the work of Maltese and Gozitan farmers, so that they are offered the best services without any extra hassles.
“We are seeing now that the Government services are getting closer to farmers and villagers, as they can now make an appointment in the easiest way and meet the representatives of the Land Authority at the AgriConnect offices in Ta’ Qali. In less than a year from the opening of these offices, we are already introducing this very important service,” Minister Refalo explained.
Among the applications that the Lands Authority processes are those on the transfer of agricultural land, applications on agricultural lands that are currently being used as quarries, and applications on fences that have expired or are about to expire, among others.
This service will be provided by appointment by calling the AgriConnect Hub on 21804981/2/4.
