Marine units of the AFM responded to rescue migrants who were in distress in the sea off Malta on Friday.
Several AFM and Civil Protection Department vessels were used to pick up those involved at the accident at sea and bring them in to Haywharf where they were aided by several medical teams located at Sai Maison.
TVM News reports that seven people were rescued but sadly two died.
The remaining survivors were then taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.
