Anyone over the age of 16 can apply for a vaccine from next Monday

People over the age of 16 can register for the COVID-19 vaccine from next Monday making Malta one of the first countries in the world to offer the vaccine to the general public.

Registration for the vaccine can be done online via the website vaccin.gov.mt or via SMS with the Identity Card number only on 99180045 to get the vaccine Malta and 99180044 to get the vaccine Gozo .

Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne announced this at a news conference on International Day dedicated to Nurses. Minister Fearne explained that the government is preparing plans for the booster dose, as often as necessary. He stated that our country has acquired enough vaccines to vaccinate children, once the vaccine is authorized for people under the age of 16, and for the booster dose of all the people. The Deputy Prime Minister stated that negotiations have already begun for our country to insure half a million doses of the vaccine for next year and the following year in order to be prepared for any eventuality.

During the same news conference, the Deputy Prime Minister also announced that in collaboration with the MUMN, mental wellbeing support workshops will be organized in the coming weeks for all nurses and midwives.
