European funds allocated by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) will once again give the opportunity to hundreds of individuals and private companies to receive a refund of thousands of euros when an electric vehicle is purchased. The initiative, which offers a grant of €500 for each new electric bicycle; from €2,000 to €6,000 for each new electric motorcycle, tricycle, or quadricycle and €11,000 for each electric car or van, is one of the several initiatives financed by European funds that are helping our country reduce pollution from emissions and improve the welfare of the residents of our country.
In a visit to the headquarters of MaltaPost PLC, which is one of the private companies in our country that benefited from these funds, the Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne saw some of the new electric vehicles that are used on a daily basis by the postman. In fact, the company MaltaPost PLC bought over 120 electric vehicles and thus eliminated the use of dozens of cars and vans that run on petrol and diesel.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the way in which the company made use of European funds in order to make an investment that is estimated to have reduced 76.6 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, and which therefore have an impact positive on our health and on the environment around us.
“Thousands of companies and individuals are doing the same kind of core for electric vehicles that MaltaPost PLC did, both on a commercial level and also on a personal level, thanks to the European funds that are making this investment more affordable,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Fearne.
He explained how with the help of European Services Malta (SEM) various companies and individuals can obtain information about European funds that are available for various investment opportunities. For more information one can send an email to info.sem@gov.mt or call +356 2779 7300.
