A man was found unconscious in St Julju Street in St Paul’s Bay shortly before midnight on Sunday.
Police believed the man, later identified as a 45-year-old Ukrainian national, had been involved in a fight.
He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
Meantime, police are questioning a 20-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay in connection with the incident.
