“Malta believes in the importance of the agricultural sector being sustainable, stable and competitive. It is only in this way that we can improve food production and ensure more certainty which brings with it more investments in the agricultural sector”, said the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo at the Council of European Ministers.
In the presence of other European ministers, Minister Anton Refalo said that we should ensure that, “Our farmers have a policy environment and regulations that work more in their favor. This is by having access without extra bureaucracy to the funds, which serve for an appropriate income while strengthening food security.”
With Malta’s position around the table it always focuses more on the points of convergence rather than divergence between competitiveness and the preservation of nature.
