The U4A program begins at the Golden Care residential home in Għargħur

Through an agreement between Active Aging and Care in the Community and the University of Malta, the University of the Fourth Age (U4A) program was launched at the Golden Care residential home in Għargħur. This means that several educational sessions for the elderly will be organized in this residence as part of the University of the fourth age. This was announced by the Parliamentary Secretary for Active Aging Malcolm Paul Agius Galea.

The Parliamentary Secretary explained how the educational program that will be offered will be suitable for people living with dementia. He went on to explain how through this program various activities will be organized so that the elderly remain intellectually and socially active, and at the same time continue to learn about various subjects.

Parliamentary Secretary Agius Galea claimed that through these programs around 635 members are already benefiting in different centers around Malta and Gozo. He mentioned how in the Golden Care residence around 40 people who are residents of this house and who will participate in this program in the first six months of the year will be benefiting.

“It is nice to continue to see a number of older people who not only remain physically active, but also who continue to show interest in courses and programs we offer,” concluded Parliamentary Secretary Agius Galea.
