In Żurrieq, with an investment of €3.5 million, the Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes inaugurated a new social housing project named after the former Prime Minister of Malta Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici.
Minister Roderick Galdes stressed how this project will mean that 27 families will be given the opportunity to start a new life under a decent and dignified roof. He mentioned how this project in Żurrieq, which includes 20 garages, is part of the ongoing investment in social housing.
The Minister emphasized how the aim of the Government, together with the Housing Authority, is not only to build new social housing buildings, but to give them to those who are really in need in order to give them a push forward to live a quality life. “This is what we mean when as a Government we talk about social justice,” Minister Roderick Galdes concluded.
The families that will be entering this social housing have gone through the application process and verifications and according to the allocation strategy that was launched in 2021.
Present for the inauguration was the Permanent Secretary Emanuel Psaila.
