On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of the Local Councils, the Prime Minister welcomed the Mayors and the Presidents of the Regions and stressed to them that the Local Councils also take the decisions for the country to move forward. forward. He argued that the decisions should be built on a balance between the different interests in society and what we aspire for future generations.

“The country needs the experience of the Local Councils that fulfill dreams for the communities,” said Dr. Abela, he means that the Local Councils should be the protagonists who come forward with ideas. The Prime Minister noted that next year the Local Councils will undergo an electoral test. It was here that he thanked them for their strong contribution to the Maltese and Gozitan communities and encouraged them to continue strengthening their commitment to the localities.
