The Authority for Transport in Malta and the UĦM Voice of the Workers – Agreement is reached on the new collective agreement in various sectors

After months of rigorous negotiations, the Authority for Transport in Malta is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with UĦM – Voice of the Workers regarding the new collective agreement for its employees.

The collective agreements will cover the following grades:
• Overtime Grades
• Maritime Professionals with Regulatory & Inspectorate Functions (Merchant Shipping
Directorate)
• Managerial & Professional Grades
• Architects & Civil Engineers
• Civil Aviation Directorate Grades

As a result of these agreements, employees will benefit from:
• substantial increases in take-home pay
• better benefits
• improved working conditions
• more justice and equality between workers
• strengthening of compassionate leave

Jonathan Borg, the Chief Executive of the Transport Authority stated that this agreement was possible thanks to the work and commitment during the negotiations including the People and Standards Division (P&SD), to the members of UĦM, to the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, and to the Authority’s workers. He stressed that the Authority will continue to work to ensure that its workers have the best working conditions.
