The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri launched the Christmas program in Gozo 2023 while announcing that the international group Venga Boys will be the special guest for the New Year’s Eve event, in Victoria, Gozo.
He announced this while he visited the preparations being made in Gozo for the Christmas festivities and met the workers and volunteers who work tirelessly from one year to the next to decorate the streets and squares and put up the best activities on the island of Goztija.
From 24 November 2023 to 7 January 2024 in Gozo a program will be staged with many events of interest for the whole family. Friday, November 24, the free concert “Christmas it’s Time” at the Aurora Opera House, Victoria City, will open the Christmas activities. The climax will then be reached on the eve of the first of the year with a wonderful concert in Pjazza Indipendenza in Rabat, Gozo with the participation of several local singers and artists including, DCapitals Big Band, MiciMago, Ryan Spiteri, Clint Bajada and Ozzy Lino and international guest Venga Boys.
“We are continuing to assist in strengthening our traditions. I thank the organizers and volunteers for their work so that ‘Christmas in Gozo 2023’ will also be a success. These together with the Directorate for Cultural Heritage within the Ministry work tirelessly to deliver a varied program with many events every year. Among them we find the Christmas Parade in Triq ir-Repubblika, Victoria, Christmas Magic – Water Cave, Santa Lucia, Children’s World in the Gardens of Villa Rundle, concerts and various traditional Gozitan cribs.”
He also mentioned that this year the living crib will be made again – Bethlehem in Ghjnsielem. Minister Camilleri concluded by inviting everyone to visit Gozo these days in order to enjoy events and attractions in many villages which from one year to the next are of such high quality that they attract several visitors to the island.
