Malta hosts the Mediterranean Tourism Forum Ministers’ Summit

 

 Malta is hosting the Mediterranean Tourism Forum Ministers’ Summit. This summit, chaired by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo, is bringing together Ministers for Tourism and representatives of Mediterranean countries to discuss the themes of sustainability and digitization in the tourism field. The participating countries in this summit are Malta, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Libya, Italy, Palestine and Spain.

 

At the beginning of this Summit, Minister Clayton Bartolo said that the Mediterranean is facing unprecedented challenges especially when it comes to climate change. “As a country we are hosting countries that are part of the Mediterranean region from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, to sit at a table and discuss themes through which we stimulate a discussion on what the decisions should be to -tourism in the Mediterranean will be sustainable and up-to-date with the modern times we are living in today. Both as Malta, and the Mediterranean region, we should be more innovative for a way of marrying cultural traditions with the present and the future through technology,” stressed Minister Clayton Bartolo.
