VisitMalta will be supporting Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club during their experience in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. Thanks to this financial support of €10,000, VisitMalta will be visible on the shirts of the Luxol team in the matches they have next week against the European Futsal Champions FC Barcelona, Sporting Anderlecht and Loznica-Grad 2018.
These details were announced in a news conference addressed by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo and the Chief Executive of the Malta Tourism Authority in the presence of the leadership and management of Luxol St Andrews Futsal Club.
Minister Clayton Bartolo stated that the aim of VisitMalta is no longer simply to attract tourists to our country. “We want to continue to support sports associations and all those who aspire to compete on behalf of Malta abroad in any sporting discipline. There is nothing better than having Maltese themselves who make a name for themselves and a beautiful advertisement for Malta,” stressed Minister Bartolo.
The Chief Executive of the Malta Tourism Authority Carlo Micallef said that the Malta Tourism Authority will strengthen its commitment to continue giving importance to sports tourism. “This is an emerging niche in the tourism product of our country that is giving us positive results. Sports tourism will greatly help us to continue attracting higher quality tourism over a whole year,” Carlo Micallef concluded.
