‘Natalis Notabilis’ back on the streets of Rabat next December

 The Christmas Village, ‘Natalis Notabilis’ will return to the streets of Victoria next December. This is after this Christmas time activity had to be stopped in recent years for various reasons, including due to the COVID 19. Despite the fact that this is only the fifth edition of ‘Natalis Notabilis’, it has gained great popularity where attended by thousands of people.
‘Natalis Notabilis’ is organized by the non-governmental organization that bears the same name, and for this edition the Ministry for Inclusion, Volunteering and Consumer Rights is financing part of the necessary cost.
The Minister for Inclusion, Volunteering and Consumer Rights, Julia Farrugia Portelli, said that “as a ministry we are supporting this activity, which apart from including the aspect of volunteering, the -the goal behind this activity is noble because it will serve to raise money for charity and it will also serve to preserve our cultural heritage when it comes to Christmas parties. I am convinced that the response to this activity will be a great encouragement, as after all it was every time this activity was organized, that those behind it deserve the thanks of everyone.”
Charlo Vassallo, on behalf of the non-governmental organization ‘Natalis Notabilis’ explained that this year there was a record number of applications for people to take part in the Christmas market. He reiterated with satisfaction that through the work of the union and the help they received, this activity will be staged again. “The help we received will be reciprocated with a wonderful activity that I believe will also be instrumental in continuing to increase the festive spirit while we are preserving our cultural heritage,” concluded Mr. Vassallo.
Sandro Craus, Mayor of Rabat, reiterated “The locality Rabtija, with its traditional Maltese streets, in themselves a cultural heritage, will serve as a stage for an activity that since its inception has served as a main attraction during the festive days of Christmas, and it is certain that even this year ‘Natalis Notabulis’ will meet the expectations that have arisen since its very beginning.”
‘Natalis Notabilis’ will be staged between 7 and 13 December next. The streets where the activity will be held will be illuminated with a new lighting system. Handicrafts, food and traditional Christmas sweets will also be sold during the event.
