Malta and Croatia have potential to strengthen trade between them. This was an important feeling that arose in a bilateral meeting that Prime Minister Robert Abela had with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković at Castille on the eve of the MED9 Summit, which Malta hosts tomorrow.
The two Leaders pointed out the strong relationships that exist no less in trade. Prime Minister Robert Abela noted the entry of Croatia into the Eurozone and the Schengen Zone at the beginning of this year and how both countries have common goals in favor of more cooperation. The two sides discussed other topics that are on the European agenda including the economy, energy, climate change and the war in Ukraine. On this last theme, the two Leaders continued to condemn the invasion by the Russian forces in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Abela repeated the appeal in favor of dialogue and peace talks. Accompanying the Prime Minister Robert Abela in this meeting were the Ministers Owen Bonnici, Ian Borg and Michael Falzon as well as the Head of the Secretariat of the Office of the Prime Minister Glenn Micallef and the Director General of the Department of Coordination of the European Union Leandro Borg.
