A diver had to be rescued after getting into difficulties in the area of Ras il-Hobż, in Għajnsielem.
Police and a medical team from Gozo General Hospital went to the scene and treated the diver, a 53-year-old German national, before taking him to hospital where his condition was described as serious.
The incident happened at 1.45pm on Wednesday afternoon.
