The eighth edition of the Gozo Sports Awards

The Ministry for Gozo organized the eighth edition of the Gozo Sports Awards where Gozitan sportsmen and sportswomen were rewarded for their advances in various sports disciplines.

During his speech, the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri stated that this was another year full of sporting activity during which the Gozitan athletes strove not only to be among the best locally but also showed their potential overseas. Here he thanked the Gozitan athletes who made us proud at the Island Games held in Guernsey a few weeks ago.

Minister Camilleri said that the legacy of these Games will be a precious one because he believes that more and more young people are committing themselves fully in order to aim to once again be the ones to participate successfully. “As a Ministry for Gozo we will certainly be supporting our commitment in order to continue what we started and continue to roam including in new sports disciplines”, said Minister Camilleri.

Director for Services for Gozo within the Ministry for Gozo Joyce Farrugia spoke about the experience of the Gozitan contingent in the first participation in the Islands Games held in Guernsey. As was done in the previous edition, this year too, the winners in each category were chosen by well-known jury members in the Gozitan sports field.
