An elderly man was injured in a robbery from a shop in Żurrieq on Friday evening.
Police were called to a gold shop in Triq Dun Ļużepp Żammit, Żurrieq at 8pm. When they arrived they found the door locked but they could see a man tied up inside with wounds on his body. A medical team and members from the Department of Civil Protection were called to assist.
An ambulance took the injured man to Mater Dei Hospital.
Police said that two people entered the shop, tied up the man, stole several things objects and fled the scene.
