74 new nurses join the Public Health service

The Public Health service continued to be strengthened with the recruitment of 74 new nurses.

The majority of these nurses have already started offering their service to Mater Dei Hospital where in their first months they were given the opportunity to work in various fields in order to accumulate different experiences within the health service.

During a visit to some of the new nurses at Mater Dei Hospital, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne congratulated them for completing their studies successfully and thus they can now practice what they have strived for over the years of study. He encouraged them in the first years of their career to identify the areas that interest them the most in order to continue specializing in that line.

Minister Fearne reminded that the State’s investment in the education of these nurses translates into a direct investment in the care of patients and therefore encouraged more young people to take the first step and start their educational path in the field of nursing.
