Air Malta CEO gets director’s fee of €10,000 every year, on top of monthly salary of €21,500.

Air Malta chairman and CEO David Curmi receives a director’s fee of €10,000 every year, on top of his monthly salary of €21,500, Times of Malta reports.

The newspaper article claims this was confirmed by Minister for Finance Clyde Caruana in response to a Parliamentary Question. Caruana had initially said that David Curmi did not receive a payment as a member of the Board of Air Malta because he was the CEO of the company. Clyde Caruana, in a letter to the Speaker, said that David Curmi himself had corrected the error but insisted that he had not tried to mislead Parliament.
