Deloitte Foundation donates laptops to the Optimist Club of Malta –

During a presentation at the Deloitte Malta offices at the Central Business District in Mrieħel, Deloitte Director Ms Roseanne Bonello, presented a donation of two laptops on behalf of the Deloitte Foundation to Reuben M Buttigieg, President of Optimist Club of Malta.

These much welcomed laptops will be used to assist children at the Optimist Club of Malta ‘Ikber Magħna’ centres.
Optimist Club of Malta forms part of Optimist International, recognised worldwide as the premier volunteer organisation that values all children and helps them develop to their full potential.

Optimist International’s purpose, since its inception in 1919, is to develop optimism
as a philosophy of life utilising the tenets of the Optimist Creed by promoting and
encouraging the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in
service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the
world.
On a local level, Optimist Club of Malta has in 2021, launched the ‘Ikber Magħna’
project which aims to assist primary school children, aged between 8 and 10 years,
with their studies and homework.
Educational extra-curriculum activities are also held, with the goal of encouraging
these youngsters to flourish beyond school hours and provide them with valuable
character-building experiences, which will help them well into the future.
Through a number of collaborations with various Local Councils, the ‘Ikber Magħna’
project has proved to be a success and over the past months has grown in popularity both with the children of these localities as well as with their parents and guardians.

However, it is also through various donations by a number of sponsors, which mostly hail from Malta’s thriving and dynamic business community, that this project could ultimately succeed. It is only through their generosity that the ‘Ikber Magħna’ project could take off and continue to support youngsters to ultimately better their quality of life.
