A man lost his life after getting into difficulties while diving in the sea near Cirkewwa.
Police received a report at midday that a man needed assistance in the Cirkewwa area.
Police and a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital immediately went to the scene where they found the a diver who had been brought ashore by some people who were with him. He immediately began to receive medical assistance and an ambulance took him to the hospital for further treatment, but unfortunately, he was certified dead a short time later. The victim was later identified as a 50-year-old Israeli.
