A 43-year-old man from Balzan was seriously injured in an explosion at a club in the main street in Balzan on Monday night, police said.
Officers were called to the club at 9pm where they found the injured man. Apparently some pyrotechnic devices had exploded.
A medical team together with members of the Civil Protection Department and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal, to assist the man and to ensure there was no danger from any other devices.
The injured man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
