The Malta Beach Soccer Team is ramping up its final preparations ahead of its first-ever European Pre-Qualifiers participation in the Beach Soccer FIFA World Cup.
This will be the maiden engagement for the Malta Beach Soccer Team in the FIFA World Cup Pre-Qualifiers, action scheduled to be contested in Baku, Azerbaijan, between Sunday and Tuesday coming.
During a Press Briefing introducing and spelling out further details about this participation for the Beach Soccer National Team, Malta FA Vice President Dr. Matthew Paris conveyed his gratitude towards sponsors Visit Malta and Nestlé Ice Cream Malta for their contribution to helping out the growth of Beach Soccer in Malta.
Malta FA Vice President also reaffirmed his promise and commitment from a few months back, pledging on behalf of the Malta FA to go a step further from just participating, indeed hosting an international Beach Soccer event on our shores going forward, whereby take full advantage of the favorable climate and beautiful beaches this country possesses thereby perfect setting for such events.
Nestle Ice-Cream Marketing Manager Joe Cutajar reiterated his commitment to representing his company that is always commended and trustful towards this Beach Soccer project in Malta driven forward by the Malta FA and through their sponsorship agreement, which will in the coming months also embrace the imminent reality of hosting a high profile international Beach Soccer event on the island.
Head of Beach Soccer within the Malta FA Mark Marlow underlined the fact the National Team players have been undertaking in-depth training over recent weeks to ensure the best possible preparation both physically and mentally in their endeavor to secure positive results in the Preliminary Group B rolling in the coming days against higher placed sides in the FIFA Beach Soccer rankings, the likes of Lithuania, Czech Republic, and Sweden.
Marlow will lead the Malta delegation flying to Baku in the coming days for this World Cup, European Pre-Qualifiers.
