During a news conference, the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School (GCHSS) prospectus for the 2023/24 school year was launched, which is online to be better accessed and interactively by all prospective GCHSS students.
The Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation Clifton Grima said that, “This post-secondary educational institution provides education through the full development of the student’s abilities and the prospect we are launching today is a reflection of this mission. It is a prospect that looks at the student as a center of education, and gives opportunities for the student to continue in obtaining his education, linked to the needs of the world of work.”
Minister Grima said that the prospectus is designed on the needs of the prospective GCHSS student, and therefore looks at the various abilities that the students have and how GCHSS can bring out the best educational elements of – students. He explained that GCHSS is a step forward from the student’s secondary life – with a more advanced and also specialized education. This leads to the students not only getting an education in the subjects that interest them the most, but it is also important that the students get important skills for the career they choose.
“This post-secondary educational institution, through the wide range of subjects it offers, gives students a solid foundation through which they have the best and best transition between the school bank and the world adult, and that of work,” concluded Minister Grima.
Head of the school Anna Spiteri said, “This school is the only post-secondary school in the state that offers two-year programs for students who wish to continue their studies or who seek employment.
This prospectus is rich and contains all the important information about the subjects taught at the school, the various courses and programs we have to offer, the support services provided, and the facilities that are on campus.”
