Former US President Donald Trump has been found guilty of sexual assault by a New York jury.
The jury found that he had sexually assaulted writer E.Jean. Carroll in the 1990’s and had also defamed her but found him not guilty of rape.
Trump was ordered to pay the former Elle magazine advice columnist $5m in damages. His lawyers said afterwards they would appeal the sentence and fine.
Donald Trump lashed out at the verdict on social media calling the outcome a “disgrace”.
