NGO Assistance Scheme for Gozitan voluntary organizations launched

The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri for another year launched the NGO Assistance Scheme in order to support the work and operation of the voluntary organizations that are based in Gozo.

The Minister explained that this scheme, which is administered by the Ministry for Gozo, is intended for the Ministry, among others, to assist voluntary organizations that are going to implement a project, event or carry out an initiative with benefit the Gozitan community and to strengthen and support volunteerism in Gozo.

“This year we are again allocating €120,000 for this scheme. The maximum amount of financial assistance that can be given for each proposal is €5,000. This help is another clear sign of the confidence of this Government in the voluntary work in Gozo and in the people who shape the associations and who work tirelessly and without interests,” repeated Minister Camilleri.

He said that in previous years, the allocated funds were an effective support for the voluntary sector so that the work of these organizations continued. He continued that this sector is constantly working on its work, especially in the areas of services and support in society, and reiterated that the Government remains committed to continue supporting this sector.

Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by inviting voluntary organizations to submit their application for this scheme, which will open on Thursday 4 May and close on Wednesday 31 May, 2023. Anyone interested can find the guidelines and apply online at https://www.vofunding.org.mt/funds/133.
