Supplies will be collected to send to Turkey and Syria as aid after the earthquakes.
The Civil Protection will be receiving supplies to be sent to Turkey and Syria as aid after the earthquakes that occurred earlier this week. The Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and Equality Byron Camilleri announced this during parliamentary question time in the House of Representatives.
Civil Protection will be accepting donations from the Maltese public at the fire stations in Hal Far and Xewkija, Gozo, between 9am and 5pm, every day. The Maltese public is encouraged to take food supplies, warm clothing, decks, tents and other material that is needed in the current circumstances of these countries.
The Civil Protection has also sent a strong contingent of 32 people and a dog to help the Civil Protection in Turkey look for the people who are unfortunately still under the rubble caused by the earthquake.
Meanwhile, the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade will be sending financial aid to the Syrian people through the International Rescue Committee, which helps people victims of natural disasters.
