A group of 32 Maltese firefighters and a dog are on their way to Turkey to, together with other workers from many countries, assist in the continuous rescue work that is currently underway.

The Maltese group, which is part of a team trained to search for people amid the rubble, will be doing this in the areas affected by the earthquake in Turkey, hoping to save as many people as possible.

The earthquake, which struck Turkey and Syria in the early hours of Monday morning, has so far claimed more then 4,000 lives.
