A double strike by Jefferson saw Gzira cruise past Hibernians and move within eight points of leaders Hamrun.
With the score at 1-0, Hibs had the chance to draw level but Degabriele’s penalty effort on the hour was central and easily blocked by Gzira’s keeper.
Jefferson made Hibs pay for that miss when he grabbed his second to consolidate Gzira’s second place.
