Hibernians will be bidding to put their off-colour premier performances behind them as they take on Zurrieg at the Centenary Stadium this evening in a last 32 round of the Izibet FA Trophy
Last week they lost 1-0 to premier leaders Hamrun Spartans and are now 13 points adrift of the front runners. Behind Hamrun, the Premier table is so packed that eight teams are chasing a place in European football. Hibs like their close competitors know they cannot afford to let any more points go begging.
The second half of this season could become a real battle for survival as the eight teams contest a spot in Europe. It will not be a place for the faint hearted.
