Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti presents funds to youth voluntary organisations under the Aġenzija Żgħażagħ schemes A4U, Be Active and Invest Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Santa Venera

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ once again presented several funds through schemes aimed at youth organisations or organisations that work with young people. The A4U and BeActive schemes are continuously growing both in terms of the funds provided, reaching €300,000 this year, and in terms of the participation of voluntary organisations with various projects to be carried out in the community.

A total of 116 applications were received this year, 71 applications for the A4U scheme, and 45 applications for the BeActive scheme, from which 94 different voluntary organisations were chosen.

The beneficiaries were invited to an event organised by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ whereby funds to implement their projects were presented. The funds were presented by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti, together with the CEO of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ Ms Miriam Theuma.

Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti stressed the importance of similar schemes aimed particularly at young people. “It is important that we do our best so that more young people are nurtured in such vocations whose profit is not a monetary one but of personal satisfaction. Through Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, we are giving a token of appreciation so that these volunteers make their utmost in the community and have more resources to work with,” stated Keith Azzopardi Tanti.

The parliamentary secretary, whilst congratulating all the organisations that benefited from these schemes, encouraged more voluntary youth organisations or those working with youth to participate in these schemes so that they will be able to continue giving their important contribution in our society.

CEO Miriam Theuma stated that Aġenzija Żgħażagħ is committed to continue offering similar schemes to support youth organisations. She said that “Through the A4U and BeActive schemes, among other schemes issued throughout the year, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ managed to create a networking system through the different organisations so that there will be further collaboration, not only with the Agency itself, but also between the organisations providing support for each other, learn and grow together, and create bigger and more ambitious projects.”
