Air Malta initiates transition of its Ground Handling Services to an external provider.

Malta International Airport plc

Air Malta announced that it has initiated the transition of ground handling services to Aviation Services Handling Limited a newly formed company that has been duly
authorised to provide ground handling services at the Malta International Airport.

The transition is expected to take place over a period of time in a phased approach that will see passenger handling, baggage handling and cargo handling being transferred to
the new operator.

Air Malta would like to inform its customers that this is a very complex and challenging transition that involves new employees working in a new environment and is not merely
a changeover from one ground handler to another.

The airline is doing its utmost to limit disruptions at its Malta hub, the Malta International Airport, but the dimension of the transition is such that delays are likely to occur.

The disruption that occurred on 15 December was further compounded by the simultaneous arrival of various aircraft from snow-bound airports across Europe particularly from
Germany (Munich) and Austria (Vienna).

Air Malta regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.
