Rishi Sunak has officially taken over as Prime Minister following an audience with King Charles III.
In a short speech before entering No 10, he admitted mistakes had been made and although the country faces a profound conomic crisis, he was not daunted by the size of the task ahead.
He is Britain’s third prime minister this year, following the downfall of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.
