Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurates the new Pet Nutrition House premises

Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated a new factory in the Industrial Zone of San Gwann with an investment of €8 million. Pet Nutrition House is the first company in the animal food industry in our country, which exports its products to 70 countries.

The prime minister said that such businesses are a crucial part of Malta’s economic success. This is why the government continued to invest in businesses, not only to survive in the face of challenges but to keep growing and changing with the aim of being more innovative and sustainable.

Support that the prime minister explained that businesses are receiving even in times of international challenges. This is because the government is bearing the burden of the increases in energy and fuel prices. Millions of euros that the government directed to the energy sector to keep prices stable.

With reference to the products being manufactured in this factory, the prime minister said that they are pushing the “made in Malta” brand, because while on a daily basis it seeks foreign investment, the government he is proud that Maltese businesses are reaching these kinds of levels.

The prime minister praised that with a state-of-the-art investment, this factory works efficiently and sustainably. He claimed that the government’s goal is for Malta to become climate neutral and that is why, hand in hand with the industry, it is promoting sustainable models that reduce energy consumption and pollution.

Dr Abela concluded that this investment represents the government’s vision for business in Malta. To venture into new sectors, invest in the sustainability of production and offer quality jobs. With the plans of this business is that in the near future, together with the 40 present employees, more workers will be added.

The Director of Pet Nutrition House Matthew Wismayer stated that the company’s success is based on innovation, service excellence, and a quality product. He explained that against the backdrop of the international challenges we are living through, the energy subsidy from the government is an important element for business. He concluded that the investment made by the company, complements their vision to continue expanding the range of products they offer in the local and even international market.

Present for the inauguration was the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli and the Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri.
