In a pre-Budget meeting with the Maltese Association of Developers in the Berga of Castile, Prime Minister Robert Abela claimed that until last September, the government invested more than €20 million to encourage people they go to the projects that protect the Maltese character.
This is through tax savings or direct grants.
€18.6 million were saved by those who bought a property in an urban conservation area apart from a little more than another million euros were saved by the buyers of a property that had been vacant for a long time.
In the meeting with the leadership of the MDA, Dr. Abela mentioned that these are measures that the government will continue to support with incentives that take care of our country’s environment while the economy continues to run smoothly. his health
Prime Minister Robert Abela said that development is not necessarily against the environment and while we must understand the rights that an individual has, this government will continue to incentivize development that makes sense and of quality.
The prime minister noted how the sector represented by the MDA continued to be strong and reminded of the government’s priority that in the Budget for 2023 stability will continue to be given and sustainability offered.
For his part, MDA President Michael Stivala stressed that the strategic decision that the government helps in the field of energy without even increasing taxes is a good one and for this help to be sustained it needs growth economic as a result of investment also from the private sector.
Mr. Stivala stressed that the private sector continues to look at the incentives and the reduction in bureaucracy while he mentioned that the MDA also believes in improving the conditions of the workers.
Here among others he mentioned the agreement that the MDA has, that the compensation for the cost of living (COLA) should be given in full, whatever it is.
Ministers Clyde Caruana, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, Silvio Schembri, and Miriam Dalli were also present at this meeting, as well as Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul, Government Deputy Deo Debattista and the Head of the Secretariat in the Office of Prime Minister Glenn Micallef.
