VisitMalta will be visible through advertising and promotion at the World Blackball Championships which will take place in France between October 8 and October 15 next. It will be represented by a Maltese contingent which will be made up of three teams in the men’s, under 18s and over 40 categories.
The participation of the Maltese athletes will be shown both on the national channel and on a number of sports stations in France, a market that this year was one of the strongest in terms of tourist arrivals in our country.
These details were announced in a news conference by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo in the presence of the Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority Gavin Gulia and the President of the Malta Blackball Federation Phillip Gatt.
Minister Clayton Bartolo pointed out how in recent months the Government has invested continuously, with the best strategic means, to position the Maltese Islands as a country that offers a diversified experience for every tourist who comes to visit us.
“Malta should not be associated only with the sun and the sea but we have the potential to, based on various niches, attract quality tourists. Among these niches is sports tourism. How nice it is that Malta’s advertising is done by local sportsmen who are competing on behalf of our country,” continued Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo.
He reiterated the Government’s commitment to continue investing so that the promotion of the Maltese Islands remains relevant throughout the year.
