105 new doctors join the health service

One hundred and five doctors began their employment with the public health sector after successfully completing their studies in medicine. These doctors graduated from the University of Malta as well as from other universities across Europe.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne met with some of these doctors at Mater Dei Hospital, which is one of the hospitals where these doctors will work in the next two years to obtain experience necessary for the next step in their career. In addition to Mater Dei Hospital, these doctors will also provide services at Karen Grech Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Mount Carmel Hospital.

More new doctors are expected to join the group in the coming months, bringing in 136 new doctors for this year.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated these doctors on their academic efforts and wished them a healthy training journey now that they have joined the health system. Deputy Prime Minister Fearne reminded them that health professionals are the backbone of the excellent service provided in our country and encouraged them to strive for and maintain the highest levels of service quality to patients.
