The GWU with the first collective agreement with NCPE

The GWU has signed two collective agreements with the National Commission for
Promotion of Equality (NCPE) – one for workers of the Commission and the other for Managers and Senior Managers – who are the first of their kind in this entity.

Workers, through these collective agreements covering up to 2024, will
they are benefiting from better conditions that provide structure
stronger.

Kendrick Bondin, Secretary of the GWU Section, signed on behalf of the GWU
Government and Public Entities, and Edmond George Apap and Antoniella Gatt
as workers’ representatives and Stephanie Magro Gazzano as
workers ’representative in the position of Managers and Senior
Managers. For NCPE signed Commissioner Renee Laiviera together
with Permanent Secretary Emanuel Psaila.

Also present were the Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and
Equality Byron Camilleri, Parliamentary Secretary for
Equality and Reforms Rebecca Buttigieg and Permanent Secretary in
within the Ministry Emanuel Psaila.

Secretary Kendrick Bondin expressed his satisfaction with the
signing of these collective agreements which he said will serve as a foundation for
workers when it comes to their rights. “We have given recognition to
workers for the work they are doing and we have created a stronger structure

so that they are represented. ”

“This is an entity for my heart because they were the ones who
guided us to pursue a policy of equality for the whole GWU. Dak
that they embrace and promote, so that there is equality in our country,
it is precisely what we as a GWU strengthen, ”continued Bondin.

He reiterated that he therefore believes that the two parties together are helping
in order to make a better society so that every human being is treated humanely.

Commissioner Renee Laiviera said that with this agreement,
workers will have better working conditions and will serve as
benefit not only for them but also for the entity.

She said that cooperation with the GWU was ongoing and translated into
closing this process so that workers now have a better base
sound on which to rely.
