Following this week’s announcement by London Heathrow airport that it will experience capacity challenges this Summer, the Airport has announced initial schedule adjustment requirements for all airlines for the travel period 15th – 24th July.
Further schedule adjustments are expected to be communicated in the coming weeks.
These enforced changes require airlines to immediately stop selling seats for all flights departing London Heathrow during this period and in addition airlines have been tasked to cancel specific flights on specific dates of departure.
Air Malta have been advised that its afternoon flight to the airport,
KM103, will not be allowed to depart London Heathrow at it’s usual time of 19:30 on the evening of Saturday 16th and Wednesday 20th July.
These two flights, along with the associated KM102, Malta to London Heathrow flight, will still operate to/from London Heathrow, however they will operate one hour earlier than previously planned on both dates.
All other Air Malta flights on London Heathrow are expected to operate
as per the published schedule.
Air Malta operates fifteen weekly services between Malta and London Heathrow, with advance booked loads for the July and August period already above 90%.
The enforced changes by London Heathrow Airport are a result of service delivery challenges facing security and airport handling. At this stage London Heathrow Airport have not advised of the schedule adjustment requirements for dates after 24th July.
