Floriana were eliminated from the UEFA Europa Conference League after losing 1-0 to Petrocub-Hincesti of Moldova in the second leg of the first qualifying round at the Stadionul Zimbru in Chisinau on Thursday.
Therefore following the goalless draw in the first leg, Petrocub-Hincesti move on to the second qualifying round where they will be facing either KF Laçi of Albania or Iskra Danilovgrad of Montenegro.
Following the first leg, coach Gianluca Atzori handed a start to James Scicluna and Lorenzo Trillo.
Petrocub scored the all-important goal on the 26 minute when goalkeeper Georgi Kitanov saved partially a Sandu effort from the left and Iaser Turcan placed the ball at the back of the net.
