The body of a 72-year-old man from Tarxien was found in the sea near the Ghar Hasan cliffs in Birzebbuga on Friday night.
Following a report that the man had not returned home from fishing, police and air and sea units of the AFM carried out a search in the area and found his body in the sea on Saturday morning.
Police suspect that the man may have slipped off the cliffs and fallen into the sea.
