Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri has launched the official program of the Gozo Regional Carnival – a special edition, organized by the National and Regional Celebrations Committee, within the ministry.

Minister Clint Camilleri said that he was pleased that the Gozo Regional Carnival would be re-organized after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. Minister Camilleri explained that this activity offers value and makes a social and economic contribution to Gozo.

“Gozo has established itself as a great cultural destination in recent years and the Regional Carnival, organized by the Ministry for Gozo, is one of the biggest manifestations of this. Therefore, we will continue to invest and provide support to further strengthen it, “said Minister Camilleri.

The Minister for Gozo said that he is sure that this special edition will be a successful one and reminded that the ministry, despite the limitations related to the pandemic, still organized static activities related to the Carnival in February. He thanked the National and Regional Celebrations Committee as well as the Culture Section within the Directorate for Cultural Heritage which is organizing this special edition of the Carnival.

Minister Camilleri also thanked the volunteers for their dedication and time in the preparations for this celebration of colors and dandruff, which in itself is a showcase of Gozitan talent.

Mons. Dr. Joseph Vella Gauci, Chairman of the National and Regional Celebrations Committee, said that despite the difficulties of the pandemic, the committee has remained committed to organizing a Carnival for the past two years. He expressed his satisfaction that now that the measures have been lifted, the committee is ready to organize the carnival in downtown Victoria.
