31 local restaurants recognized in the Michelin Guide

31 local restaurants have been recognized by the Michelin Guide which annually recognizes the quality and culinary skills of some of the best restaurants in the world, including those located in the Maltese Islands.

On an anonymous basis, inspectors of this world brand came to Malta to see the performance of the gastronomic sector of the country.

For this year, the five restaurants that have earned the prestigious title of “One-MICHELIN Star Status” are Under Grain, Noni, ION-The Harbor, De Mondion and Bahia, as well as the restaurants under Bib Gourmand category: Grain Street, Terrone, Rubino and Commando.

These details were announced during the official presentation of these awards by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo in the presence of the Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority Gavin Gulia.

Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo emphasized how the Michelin Guide’s journey in Malta is a clear demonstration of how much Malta as a destination cares about quality and sustainable tourism.

“These restaurants have recognized the importance of being at the forefront of satisfying the most demanding customers. It is worth noting that our country, despite its small size, has managed to have a level of restaurants that are recognized by the Michelin Guide “, continued Minister  Bartolo.
