The Minister for Public Works and Planning Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi gave details about the works that will be carried out on the Xarolla Mill after suffering extensive damage in a storm with a strong wind that gripped our country in Last March 19th.
Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi announced that the Ministry for Public Works and Planning will take responsibility for repairing all the damage so that this mill will be able to return to working order and will be re-enjoyed by the Maltese and the tourists who visit it.
He explained that all the work is expected to be completed later this year, while the cost is expected to reach € 10,000. Noel Polidano, a Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Public Works at the Department of Public Works, said the six 30-foot poles each, known as the antarjoli, would be made new and had already been ordered. The lanterns that hold the fabric sails, the center beam and all the vents will also be replaced.
Also present for this visit was the Director General of the Department of Public Works Architect Stephen Bonello, together with the Mayor of Zurrieq Rita Grima. For her part, Mayor Rita Grima thanked the government for its work in making this historical heritage in Zurrieq re-enjoyed by Maltese and foreigners in the shortest possible time.
