Pope Francis is greeted by Gozo Bishop Anton Teuma at the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary in Għarb, Gozo.
Inside the sanctuary, Pope Francis prayed in the chapel and placed a golden rose at the foot of the painting of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu.
Both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI gave golden roses to the miraculous painting during their visits to Malta, in 1990 and 2010 respectively.
