President Joe Biden is in Brussels for three summits where he will meet with NATO, G7 and EU leaders to discuss the latest steps to be taken against Vladimir Putin and Russia.
NATO is believed to be ready to increase its military forces along the Eastern flank. It is expected NATO will approve the sending of more equipment help Ukraine defend itself against the invading Russian forces.
The meeting of G7 leaders and the later summit with the 27-nation European Union are likely to focus on further sanctions against Russia. European countries are also likely to discuss ways of cutting reliance on Russian gas.
