Prime Minister Robert Abela announced on Tuesday evening that the controversial marina project for Marsaskala has been cancelled.
The Prime Minister was in the seaside town for a meeting with Labour supporters and told them that he feared the project would destroy the bay and people would no longer be able to enjoy a walk along the promenade.
In a reaction to the announcement by the prime minister, the Nationalist Party hailed it as a u-turn and welcomed the decision to cancel the project.
