People in need of government support schemes can now obtain a complete service from Ċentru Servizz Familja — servizz.gov. This centre, which from today is operating from central premises in Valletta, is a one-stop-shop for all social assistance, offering a larger and stronger service.
Ċentru Servizz Familja will give the client the opportunity to undergo a professional profiling exercise, helping to identify eligible social schemes and services. The client will then be provided with all necessary assistance to apply successfully. All this is done with respect for the individual’s privacy and without delay.
Principal Permanent Secretary Mario Cutajar said that the customer would not only find all social services under one roof but be given a holistic service from profiling to providing tailored services to the individual. Mr Cutajar added that this centre would also act as a pilot project before being subsequently extended to the 23 regional hubs that servizz.gov provides in the community.
Ċentru Servizz Familja, located in 72 Melita Street in Valletta, will be run by servizz.gov, with professional help from social workers of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS). Other services provided by servizz.gov will be available in the same building.
Nowadays, servizz.gov offers its assistance through freephone 153, the 23 one-stop-shops in the community, technical hubs on tax and education, through the servizz.gov website, and through Maltapps. Ċentru Servizz Familja is another means of bringing government services closer to people and testifies to the commitment of the Public Service to provide a service of excellence.
