B’kara beat Hibernians 3-2 to inflict the first defeat of the season on the premier leaders and throw the title race wide open.
Two first half goals put B’kara in the driving seat.
Hibs fought back in the second half but were punished with a late strike by B’Kara as they fell to their first loss this season.
The game started well for Hibs with Thaylor causing the B’kara all sorts of problems down the right side.
Bismark sounded the first alarm for Hibs as his header in the box was just wide.
Da Costa’s overhead missed the target but would not have counted as he was flagged offside.
Hibs had a big shout for a penalty but referee Fyodor Zammit waved away their appeals.
The opening goal came mid-way through the first half when Luke Montebello volleyed in from the right past a stranded Calleja Cremona.
Minutes later Hibs thought they were level as Dunstan Vella had the ball in net but his effort was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.
There was a moment of concern for B’kara when Bonanni took a knock but after some treatment he was fit to continue.
As Hibs continued to search for an equaliser before the break B’kara struck again with a powerful long range shot from captain Cain Attard.
2 up at the break, B’kara were on a high, Hibs looked stunned.
Moments after the restart, the game twisted again as Apap headed home to put Hibs right back in the contest.
Cain Attard tested the Hibs keeper with a hard hit free kick and Calleja Cremona did well to push it wide.
With ten minutes remaining Da Costa stabbed Hibs level to send their supporters into orbit.
Their relief was short-lived as Hibs again failed to pick up Montebello, voted Man of the Match, struck the winner.
A tremendous win for B’Kara which moves them to within six points of Hibernians and only two behind Floriana who play Gzira on Sunday.
It has thrown the race for the league title wide open.
Hibernians lead has been whittled down to four points, that would be cut even further should Floriana beat Gzira.
